REM 2026 – 24th IEEE International Conference on Research & Education in Mechatronics

On 12 and 13 November 2026, Fontys University of Applied Sciences will be organising the 24th edition of REM, a well-established conference in the field of mechatronics, co-sponsored by the IEEE. REM brings together researchers, lecturers and industry innovators to discuss topics such as robotics, automation, embedded systems and intelligent control. The conference will take place at the Fontys campus in Eindhoven, in the heart of the Brainport region.

The programme has a strong focus on applied, industry-relevant research, involving collaboration with leading Brainport companies such as ASML, VDL and the Philips Museum. All submitted papers undergo a double-blind peer review in accordance with IEEE guidelines; accepted papers are presented and published in IEEE Xplore.

Researchers, lecturers and industry professionals working in mechatronics, robotics, embedded systems, AI and related technical disciplines.

Programme

Topics include, amongst others, the design and control of mechatronic systems, sensors and actuators, cyber-physical systems, the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, Industry 4.0/5.0, digital twins, additive manufacturing and autonomous systems.
