The programme was wide-ranging and substantive. Topics such as cognitive robotics, the future of computing, semiconductors, the circular economy, the National Technology Strategy and defence innovation were all covered. Keynote speaker Lukas M. Ziegler, a European robotics expert, positioned cognitive robotics at the heart of the next industrial wave. Tjerk Opmeer from the Ministry of Economic Affairs & Climate emphasised that the Netherlands must be more selective in choosing the areas where it wishes to be indispensable. And State Secretary Derk Boswijk from the ministry of Defence called for closer cooperation between research organisations and the business community, particularly in the field of defence innovation.
During the event, Holland High Tech explicitly positioned itself as an orchestrator: the place where all high-tech sectors converge and public-private partnerships are put into practice.
We’ll be posting a detailed RECAP of the event shortly. In the meantime, the report from IO+ gives you a good impression of the day.
