New KIC call
This crossover call focuses on innovation in the field of robotics, one of the priority areas in the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy’s targeted Mechanical Engineering programme. This is achieved by focusing on the further development of three priority key technologies from the National Technology Strategy. KIA Key Technologies (KIA ST) and KIA Agriculture, Water, Food (KIA LWV), together with the stakeholders WUR, TNO, TU/e, HHS, NHL Stenden, UM/HAS, TKI Horticulture & Propagation Materials, TKI Agri & Food and Holland High Tech, discussed which innovations contribute to the Netherlands’ earning capacity, whilst also taking into account the societal impact of these innovations.
KIA ST and KIA LWV
In terms of content, the proposal aligns with the three action agendas – Optical Systems & Integrated Photonics, Mechatronics & Optomechatronics, and Imaging Technologies – of the National Technology Strategy, as set out in the KIA ST. From the perspective of KIA LWV, the theme of this KIC call contributes to the Agriculture and Horticulture and Food missions, and to the Sensors and Robotics strands within their key technology programme ‘Smart Technology for Agri-Horti-Water-Food’. KIA ST and KIA LWV have previously collaborated successfully on the development of the crossover call Biochemical Diversity.
