Timo Meinders

Timo Meinders studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Twente (UT), earned his PhD in Nonlinear Solid Mechanics, and was an associate professor in solid mechanics.

Since 2020, he has been the director of the MESA+ Institute at the UT. MESA+ embraces a multidisciplinary approach, with more than 550 researchers delivering high-quality, often groundbreaking research. MESA+ actively seeks collaboration with external partners, providing an excellent environment for consortium formation. MESA+ offers a strong (regional) ecosystem that fosters a breeding ground where ideas can flourish and grow into relevant, successful solutions and companies. The MESA+ Institute plays a key role in several major national growth funds and is also home to the NanoLab and secretary of NanoLabNL.

He is also a board member of the Thermo Plastics Composites Research Centre (TPRC) and a board member of MinacNed. He is a founding member of the ChipTech Twente foundation.

He is a board member of the National Growth Fund NXTGEN Hightech foundation in the role of Director of Technology and is a board member of the program council of Holland High Tech.
