The Netherlands, together with Estonia, Sweden, Finland and Denmark, is among the leading group, which scores 40 to 60 percentage points above the EU average.
The Netherlands scores particularly highly in terms of talent and participation in European research projects. At the same time, the scoreboard shows that the Netherlands has fallen in the area of innovation-friendly regulation compared to 2024, and satisfaction with available infrastructure, networks and services has also declined. The AWTI (Advisory Council for Science, Technology and Innovation) is working on a report on how regulation can better promote innovation.
