TechBridge call: Taiwan 2026 - Photonics Integrated Circuits

The TechBridge Taiwan Call 2026 is a grant call aimed at stimulating R&D collaboration between Dutch and Taiwanese parties in integrated photonics. The call focuses specifically on the development of Photonics Integrated Circuits (PICs): chips that use light for applications such as data communication, sensing, and computing.

This TechBridge call accelerates and strengthens collaboration between both ecosystems. Dutch companies and knowledge institutions are invited to work with Taiwanese partners on groundbreaking research and technology development, with an emphasis on scaling up towards (future) mass production.

Who is the call intended for?

The TechBridge call is aimed at Dutch consortia consisting of:

  • Companies (particularly SMEs)

  • Knowledge institutions

  • Research organizations

A condition is that they collaborate with innovative partners from Taiwan within a joint R&D project in the field of integrated photonics.

  • Initiators: the Taiwanese Industrial Development Administration (IDA) and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO)

  • Total budget: € 1,900,000

  • Maximum contribution per Dutch consortium: € 700,000
