A new KIC call will soon open at NWO: System design in mechatronics and optomechatronics. The call has been developed in collaboration with KIA Key Technologies and is part of the KIA ST 2024–2027 for the year 2025. The expected closing date for submissions is 17 February 2026 at 14:00 CET. A total budget of €7 million is available.
The call encourages interdisciplinary public-private collaboration focused on innovative system design within (opto)mechatronics. The aim is to develop new design concepts that address future demands for performance, reliability, precision and scalability in high-tech systems. This requires combining expertise from mechanics, electronics, software, optics and system architecture, and close cooperation between companies, researchers and societal partners.
A matchmaking event for this call is already planned to take place on 11 December 2025 (to be confirmed). More information about the call will be shared once available.
