Export control seminar for start-ups and scale-ups active in key enabling technologies

On 1 June 2026, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is organizing an Export Control Seminar for companies active in one of the key enabling technologies from the National Technology Strategy (NTS). This seminar is intended exclusively for start-up and scale-up companies with little experience in export control.

Every year, the Export Control and Strategic Goods (ESG) department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organizes an export control seminar. This is a widely publicized seminar covering various topics, ranging from the content of export control to sanctions. The information needs of start-ups and scale-ups differ significantly from those of larger companies, which already have more experience with permit applications and export control.

For whom

The seminar taking place on 1 June 2026, therefore focuses specifically on start-ups and scale-ups active in the ten key enabling technologies represented in the National Technology Strategy (NTS). These sectors are: Optical Systems and Integrated Photonics, Quantum Technologies, Process Technology (including Process Intensifcation), Biomolecular and Cell technologies, Imaging Technologies, Mechatronics and Optomechatronics, AI & Data Science, Energy Materials, Semiconductor Technologies, Cybersecurity Technologies.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the CDIU, among others, will be present at this seminar to give presentations on the fundamentals of export control and licensing.
