Applications are now open for the euRobotics Technology Transfer Award 2027

22 October 2026

Has your organisation successfully brought robotics research to market? If so, you could be in with a chance of winning the euRobotics Technology Transfer Award 2027. The deadline for entries is 17 January 2027. The finalists will give their pitches in early March at the European Robotics Forum in Birmingham.

Since 2004, euRobotics has been presenting this award to recognise successful collaborations between research and industry in Europe. The award recognises robotics research that has developed into a product, application or service. The aim is to demonstrate how important knowledge transfer is to keeping European robotics at the forefront globally.

Robotics can help tackle challenges such as an ageing population, labour shortages and climate change. This will only be possible if research actually finds its way into practice. The 2027 edition will be the 24th; it is the forum’s longest-running award.

Who can take part?

The award is open to organisations in Europe. The following conditions apply to entries:

  • The technology transfer took place in Europe and has resulted in a robotics product, application or service.

  • The research results originate from a research institute or (technical) university, not from research carried out within the company itself.

  • There is demonstrable commercial traction, for example paying customers, turnover, a spin-off or a market launch.

  • A team is represented by a maximum of three people.

How to sign up

Please submit an application of no more than six pages by 17 January 2027, using the euRobotics template. A panel of experts from industry and academia will assess the innovation and its commercial impact.

On 5 February, the finalists will find out whether they have made it through. They will present their projects on 2 March during the forum in Birmingham. The awards ceremony will take place on 3 March.

Why take part?

Taking part provides a European platform. Finalists will pitch their projects at the European Robotics Forum, Europe’s largest networking event for robotics. The event brings together over 1,500 people from industry, research, policy and the investment sector. This puts you in the spotlight in front of potential customers, partners and investors all at once.
