Chips and high-tech systems form the invisible foundation underpinning AI, green technology, healthcare innovation and the digital transition. To tackle these societal challenges and strengthen Europe’s technological sovereignty, collaboration between research institutions, industry and partners is essential. The Casimir Institute brings together over 700 researchers in the fields of semiconductors, quantum technology, photonics, advanced materials, high-tech systems and fundamental research. One year after its foundation, the institute will use this event to reflect on its initial results and look ahead to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
Form whom
The event is aimed at researchers, industry professionals, start-ups and ecosystem partners active in the semiconductor and high-tech systems supply chain. Are you looking for new collaboration partners, keen to find out what’s happening in the field of heterogeneous integration or AI in the chip supply chain, or would you like to meet the programme managers at the Casimir Institute? If so, this event is highly recommended.
Programme
Following the opening address by Silvia Lenaerts, Rector Magnificus of TU/e, and a retrospective by Scientific Director Bart Smolders, Dr Tsu-Jae King Liu will deliver the keynote speech Engineering Leadership in a World of Accelerating Change. This will be followed by two expert dialogues between academia and industry: one on heterogeneous integration, featuring Paul Heremans (CTO of imec), amongst others, and one on the role of AI from materials to systems, featuring Sjoerd Verduyn Lunel (ASML), amongst others.
During lunch, there will be a poster and demo fair showcasing innovations from TU/e and its partners, and you’ll have the chance to speak with the institute’s programme managers. In the afternoon, Anouk Hubrechsen, CEO and co-founder of Antennex, will share her perspective as a start-up, followed by a panel discussion on the deep-tech ecosystem featuring, amongst others, Lex Hoefsloot (Lightyear). The day will conclude with the first Casimir Institute Recognition Ceremony, a look ahead and a networking drinks reception.
The programme will be further updated over the coming weeks. Please check the event’s website for the latest version.
