At this conference, Additive Manufacturing is not treated as a technology in its own right, but as a strategic production tool: bringing production closer to the customer, reducing lead times, decreasing reliance on stock, and opening up new possibilities for spare parts, tooling, repairs and series production. From initial exploration to certified production: AM for Production offers insights, real-world case studies and valuable contacts to help you take the next step.
For who
AM for Production is relevant to anyone who actually wants to bring AM into production, including:
Engineers
Production managers
Supply chain managers
Quality managers
R&D professionals
Purchasing officers
Board members
Programme
Among other things, the programme focuses on the role of AM in supply chain resilience, spare parts and lifecycle management, the business case for local or distributed manufacturing, quality and certification, and new AM technologies such as DED, WAAM and solid-state processes (including Friction Stir/Screw Extrusion AM, partly developed by the University of Twente). Speakers include: René Backx (MX3D) on robotic 3D metal printing, Dr Ir Gert Claes (Sirris) on the entire AM chain from design to quality, and Dr Pierre Van Cauwenbergh (3D Systems) on laser powder bed fusion. New this year is a pre-conference networking dinner on 6 October.
