Quantified Perfusion assessment to guide and improve decision-making in treatment of Peripheral Arterial Disease
Sufficient tissue perfusion is an essential condition for wound healing. Gaining insight into local tissue perfusion is therefore essential for the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of patients with perfusion-related diseases.
Quantified analysis of local tissue perfusion, using two-dimensional perfusion angiography, laser speckle contrast imaging and fluorescence angiography, has the potential to gain more insight into the optimal treatment for the individual patient and thus improve the cost-effectiveness of treatment and reduce social costs.
This project will develop software and improve and validate imaging systems to enable quantified tissue perfusion with the imaging techniques: two-dimensional perfusion angiography, laser speckle contrast imaging, fluorescent angiography and photoacoustics.
