Current industrial testing of cyber-physical systems is manual, costly, and dependent on scarce experts. Existing automation lacks analytical support for risk identification and test quality assurance. Testing systems of systems adds further complexity due to their heterogeneous, distributed, and interdependent nature, requiring coordinated validation across multiple domains and lifecycle stages.
Experimental development: climbing the TRL-ladder
In previous years, partners have developed a methodology for model-based testing of Systems-of-Systems which they validated with small industry cases. Mátala-2026 will build upon previous Mátala projects, professionalizing the tools to make them suitable for large-scale deployment in a first full scale experimental industrial deployment.
