Investing in these pilot lines is crucial. They form the bridge between fundamental research and market applications and contribute to stronger European technological autonomy as well as the earning capacity of the Dutch high-tech sector.
The three pilot lines are:
SUPREME (Superconducting Pilot Line): focuses on scaling up and standardizing the production of superconducting qubits and chips, essential for reliable quantum computers.
P4Q (Photonics for Quantum): develops photonic quantum chips for applications in communication, sensing, and computing, with a focus on scalable production.
SPINS (Semiconductor Pilot Line): accelerates the development of semiconductor-based quantum dot qubits, fitting within existing chip infrastructure.
By participating in three of the five European pilot lines, the Netherlands underscores its strong position in quantum technology and makes a significant contribution to a future-proof European chip and quantum industry.
