European universities create network for new tech champions

Twenty European Start-up Centers work together to help tech companies with talent and big money. They are targeting costly 'deep tech' such as nuclear fusion or quantum computers. With their new network Rise Europe, they want to give young entrepreneurs in Europe better access to capital and markets.

Rise Europe

Rise Europe was founded this month in Schloss Elmau. On May 10, the directors of twenty European start-up centers gathered here. After three days of brainstorming, they came up with a list of about 200 tech companies that can be helped by the network.

John Bell, director of start-up center High Tech XL in Eindhoven. “We make it as easy as possible for entrepreneurs to reach investors in other countries,” says Bell. “We are the ecosystem of national ecosystems.”
