The Mini Symposium Women in Photonics Benelux aims to bring professionals and the academic world together to support each other. This year the event will take place on May 22, 2023 at Utrecht University.
It is increasingly recognized that diversity is crucial to knowledge and innovation, both in industry and academia. Photonics is one of the most important emerging technologies that could become the technology of the 21st century. Women represent much less than 10% of the photonics workforce in most countries in Northern Europe, including the Netherlands. This figure is even lower when looking at leadership positions.
